Your data, your family
Privacy Policy
This page is maintained by Food Explorer Club to answer common questions about how we handle your family's information. It is not an independent certification or legal audit.
What we collect
We collect only the information needed to run the app and help your child explore food.
- Account information — email address and authentication details (managed by our identity provider).
- Child profiles — first name and an optional avatar or photo you upload. You control what is shared.
- Activity data — foods explored, badges earned, levels completed, and tasting logs. This powers the adventure and progress tracking.
- Support emails — if you contact us, we keep the conversation so we can help.
We do not collect precise location data, device contacts, or browsing history outside the app.
How we use it
We use your data to:
- Provide the Food Explorer Club experience (profiles, badges, progress, reels, and parent insights).
- Process payments and manage subscriptions via Stripe.
- Send important account or service emails (we do not send marketing emails to children).
- Keep the app safe, secure, and working well.
We do not sell personal data. We do not use data for targeted advertising. We do not profile children for commercial purposes.
Children's privacy
Food Explorer Club is designed for families with children aged 3–12. Protecting children's privacy is a core commitment.
- We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. Accounts for children are created and managed by a parent or legal guardian.
- We do not allow children under 13 to create accounts independently.
- We do not display public profiles or allow children to share personal information with other users inside the app.
- We do not send marketing communications to children.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data without parental consent, contact us immediately and we will delete it.
Third-party services
We rely on a small number of trusted service providers to run the app:
- Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and real-time features. Data is stored in secure cloud infrastructure.
- Stripe — processes payments and subscriptions. We do not store full card numbers; Stripe handles that securely.
These providers are contractually bound to use data only for the purposes of delivering their services to us. We do not share data with advertisers or data brokers.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymise personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are legally required to keep it (for example, tax or fraud-prevention records).
Parents can delete a child profile at any time from the app. If you need help removing data we cannot delete from the app interface, email us.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you or your child.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete personal data.
- Export your data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.

Cookies & analytics
We use essential cookies and session tokens to keep you logged in and maintain security. We do not use third-party analytics cookies or tracking pixels for advertising.
If we add analytics in the future solely to improve the app experience, we will update this policy and notify you.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app grows or as laws change. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the app. The updated policy will always be available at this page.
